Legacy Interview: Sally Winston, PsyD

Course Description

Join Dr. Winston and Dr. McGrath for a "good conversation."  You'll hear about the family-like early days in psychology and Dr. Winston's fascinating work with the Agoraphobia Clinic at Sheppard Pratt.  Dr. Winston shares how an Australian physician inspired her paradigm shift toward acceptance and why it used to be considered controversial to be a specialist.  You'll hear the stories behind her pivotal work with the NIH on establishing panic disorder as a recognizable and treatable condition and how she advocated for and helped introduce mindfulness to the mental health field.  Dr. Winston shares how she ended up writing four books and a blog with Dr. Martin Seif despite always saying she would never write a thing.  Lastly,  you'll get a chance to hear Dr. Winston's  perspective on the future of the field.
