An Introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with Rachel Steen, LPC
Course Description
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a transdiagnostic cognitive behavioral therapy that helps people learn how to willingly face their unwanted internal experiences in the service of taking meaningful action. ACT is helpful for people struggling with diverse issues, including chronic pain, depression, anxiety, OCD, psychosis, and substance abuse.
In this online, 2-hour workshop therapists will become familiar with the general model of ACT. The trainer will utilize didactics, experiential exercises, and case examples to help introduce therapists to the philosophy, core components, and treatment implications of the ACT model.
