Integration of Self-Compassion Work into ERP for OCD with Lauren Hunter, LCSW
Course Description
Self compassion techniques have been shown to be highly effective at supporting people with OCD to effectively manage their symptoms. OCD often presents itself in the form of thoughts that are egodystonic for clients - at times they are taboo, violent, graphic, and far removed from what is in alignment with their values. Shame, guilt, and self-criticism that result only fuel the OCD cycle - this can create challenges in treatment but also prevent people from receiving the support they need.
