From Assessment to Intervention: A Clinical Framework for Treating BFRBs with Dr. Deibler and Dr. Reinardy
Course Description
Effective treatment of body-focused repetitive behaviors requires a thoughtful understanding of the unique factors driving each individual's behavior. This session moves beyond a general introduction to BFRBs and into the clinical work of assessment and individualized treatment planning. Attendees will explore the multidimensional factors that develop and maintain BFRB patterns and learn how to use this understanding to build treatment plans that are both evidence-based and individually tailored. This course will also address the real-world barriers that prevent individuals from seeking or sustaining care, including stigma, limited access to trained providers, and motivational challenges, offering practical strategies to improve access to care.
Learning Objectives
